Most of my writing energy for the last few months has gone into writing a Focal Point review article on LIBS for Applied Spectroscopy.  It’s been a lot of fun.  In the article, co-author Amy Bauer and I discuss some of the most interesting LIBS papers of the last 18 months or so.  We include information on the newest developments in calibration-free LIBS, on introduction of plasma characteristics into the calibration process to improve accuracy, and on the exploration of molecular features with LIBS.  The paper also includes summaries of some of the most important developments in applications for LIBS, such as applications on biological materials, coal, and minerals.

Check out the paper — I hope that you enjoy it!  Thanks to Applied Spectroscopy for the opportunity and for providing free access to their Focal Point review articles.  Click here for a link!
